The Mixed Municipal Choir

The Mixed Municipal Choir was founded in 1999 and is composed of professional musicians - singers.
The Choir in cooperation with the Athens Symphony Orchestra and the Athens Chamber Orchestra, as well as other orchestras of other organisations like the ERT Symphony Orchestra, the "Mikis Theodorakis" Folklore Orchestra etc, has presented up to its present course pieces of Ludwig Van Beethoven, Requiem, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johannes Brahms, Felix Mendelssohn, Vivaldi, Pergolesi, Georg Friedrich Handel, Johann Sebastian Bach, Richard Wagner, Erik Satie, Maurice Ravel, Pavane, Gabriel Faure, Carl Orff, Manolis Kalomiris, Eleftherios Kalkanis, Zorbas, Mikis Theodorakis, Giannis Markopoulos, Tassos Ioannidis and Giorgos Pazaitis.
It has also presented in a capella concerts pieces of Monteverdi, Palestrina, Βanchieri, Schuman, Saint-Saens, Bardos, Brahms, Verdi, Theodorakis, Chatzidakis, Savvopoulos, Plessas, Taylor, Lignos, Adamis, Baltas, Antoniou, Ioannides, Constantinidis and Papakonstantinou.
Furthermore, in tribute concerts, it has presented in cooperation with music ensembles of the City, pieces of Verdi, Berstein, Brahms, Strauss, Mozart, etc.
In June 2001, it participated in the concerts of the famous French composer Jean Michel Jarre at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus.
Finally, Mixed Municipal Choir has appeared in various Festivals all over Greece like the International Music Festival of Santorini, the Patmos Religious Music Festival, and in various Choir Festivals.
Since its foundation it has been directed by the maestro Stavros Beris.
