ACCOMODATION DURING 8TH YSF 2008
· Accommodation during the 8th YSF 2008, including breakfast in a double room (to be shared with another applicant) in Poseidon Grand Resort in Loutraki, www.poseidonresort.gr from Thursday June 26 to Saturday June 28, 2008 (2 nights).
OTHER SERVICES PROVIDED DURING 8th YSF 2008
· Transportation from Athens airport (Eleutherios Venizelos) to the YSF Congress hall (Poseidon Grand Resort) in Loutraki with shuttle buses.
· 2 days conference package during the YSF2008 (coffee breaks & lunches).
· Dinner on Thursday June 26 and Friday June 27, 2008.
ACCOMODATION DURING 33rd FEBS Congress & 11th IUBMB Conference
· Accommodation during the 33rd FEBS Congress & 11th IUBMB Conference, including breakfast in comfortable triple and double rooms (to be shared with another applicant) in President Hotel, www.president.gr at the centre of Athens, from Sunday June 28 to Thursday July 3 (5 nights).

· Registration fees for the 33rd FEBS & 11th IUBMB Congress
· Transportation from YSF Congress hall (Poseidon Grand Resort) in Loutraki, to President Hotel, Athens with shuttle buses.
TRAVEL
· FEBS Applicants: Travel (air tickets) expenses inside Europe (100% from Eastern Europe*, 80% from the rest of Europe) are covered. A travel grant form (ALREADY sent to you by the Organizing Committee) should be reverted (by fax or e-mail) to Louise McSeveny.
· IUBMB Applicants: Travel expenses for 10 IUBMB participants from developing countries.
Flight: cheapest roundtrip European Apex Economy airline fare
Train: roundtrip second class
*Eastern Europe countries include all the FEBS Associated members (e.g. Tunis, Morocco, Kyrgyz), including those who are now in the EU.
Application criteria- Requirements for Application
FEBS application criteria
Applicants have to meet certain criteria to be eligible for participation:
- All applicants must submit an abstract as the first authors.
An Applicant:
- should be or have been, a student at an institution of higher education in a country where there is a FEBS Constituent Society or in a country that is a FEBS Associated Member;
- should either be a Ph.D. student or a postdoctoral fellow within 3 years after obtaining his/her Ph.D.
- must be a member of a FEBS Constituent Society or FEBS Associated Member.

must not have previously attended a FEBS YSF meeting.

If you do not have a valid FEBS membership, please contact a corresponding organization in your country of origin.

IMPORTANT: You must send a copy of verification of FEBS membership by e-mail attachment or FAX to the organizing committee no later than one week after your registration.
IUBMB Application Criteria
Applications for IUBMB fellowships are only open to applicants from outside Europe. The applicant should either be a Ph.D. student or a postdoc within 5 years of obtaining her/his Ph.D.degree. Preference will be given to fist time applicants for an IUBMB grant to participate in the Young Scientist program.
All applicants must submit:
a. One abstract, as a first author, for the YSF Symposium and the Congress.
b. Brief Curriculum Vitae (not more than one page)
c. List of publications with title and journal reference
d. A motivation letter briefly describing the reasons why the applicant would benefit from attending.
e. Recommendation letter from the applicants PI (Principal Investigator). Each PI can only recommend one applicant.
f. Budget for travel costs, indicate (in detail) the level of financial support required , with justification, including travel to Athens by APEX/lowest Economy Airfare.
