Career round table 8th YSF FEBS-IUBMB 2008

The Career round table is considered the highlight of the Young Scientist Forum programme, the occasion for each participant to ask questions and discuss strategies.
To promote the exchange of information, the speakers will briefly present their experience in the development of scientific careers, and will illustrate how their organizations contribute to the training of young scientists. The main aim of this round table is to stimulate the discussion with the YSF participants, giving tips for a successful career in science.

  • June 2008: Hellenic Minisrtry of Tourism Development has agreed to sponsor YSF 2008.
  • June 2008: The printing of Abstarct books and the poster walls are kindly offered of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, www.uoa.gr.
  • 20/05/08: All participants who have requested letters of invitation for Visa permits for YSF2008 should have received their invitation letters by now. Please check that you have already received your letters and contact us if there is any problem.
  • May 2008: A detailed programme and a list of all participants will be added to the official YSF 2008 site by the end of May. Participants will be also informed regarding their oral and poster presentations by the end of May.
  • 12/05/08: Prof. N.K. KARAMANOS has accepted our invitation to salute YSF 2008.
  • May 2008: Three prizes (one for the best oral presentation and two for the best poster presentation -one for each poster session-) have been decided to be awarded during YSF 2008.
  • May 2008: Biosure R&T Cell Co has agreed to sponsor YSF 2008.
  • May 2008: The composition of the Career Round Table has been finalized and has been added on our official site.

  • March 2008: Mike Rogers, European Commission officer responsible -European Technology Assessment Network (ETAN), Marie-Curie Actions-fellowship program, has accepted our invitation as Career Round Table invited speaker.
  • 03/03/08: All YSF 2008 applicants have received the necessary travel form to complete and return to the Secretary of FEBS Treasurer, Ms Louise McSeveny in order to receive the travel grant.
  • March 2008: Prof. Dr. Claudina Pousada, FEBS Honorary Chair of the Working Group on the Career of Young Scientists, has accepted our invitation as Career Round Table invited speaker.
  • 28/02/08: The letters of acceptance/rejection have been sent to all applicants. All accepted participants have been registered automatically to the Main FEBS Congress and should have received a confirmation mail with their personal access code. All applicants who were not accepted to the YSF2008 and want to participate on the main FEBS congress must register by themselves.
  • February 2008: Bio-Rad Laboratories has agreed to sponsor YSF 2008. A lecture regarding "Gene Modulation, Expression Profiling and Real Time PCR Quantification" will be delivered. The lecture is scheduled for 27/06/08.
